Kitchen Assistant - Cleaner / Küchenhilfe - Spüler
General Description
The Kitchen Assistant-Cleaner is a member of the Food & Beverage team and works at Zug Campus. The role requires the individual to carry out general cleaning duties and assist the kitchen team with their tasks. In addition, they share responsibility for maintaining food safety and good hygiene practices (GHP).
This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm) with 60 days of holiday.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties in the kitchen and other designated areas
- Cleaning of tableware and kitchen utensils
- Provision, delivery and dismantling of material for events
- Cleaning and setting up the lunch room
- Support the kitchen team in the performance of their duties
- Assist in the kitchen with the preparation of lunches (cold and hot components)
- Transport and return food units to the various serving locations on campus
- Serve lunch at the buffet to students, employees and guests
- Assist in the production, preparation, and provision of items for the School Kiosk
- Assistance in operating the kiosk service
- Dispose of recyclables, trash and food scraps
- Assist with school events on weekends, when required
- Commit to ongoing growth and improvement
- Implementation of hygiene and work safety guidelines
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with working in a food processing company
- Basic knowledge and awareness of hygiene and safe food handling practices
- Basic verbal communication skills in both English and German
- Ability to communicate in a courteous manner with students, staff and parents
- Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills
- Able to work several hours standing
- Reliable and resilient, with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Proactive, self-motivated, diligent and a good team player
- Must have an outstanding work ethic and a service-oriented attitude
- Ability and willingness to sometimes work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as needed, in support of operational initiatives and school events
